Agwest® Bartolo offers mid season maturity, flowering approximately 105 days after emergence from a mid May sowing. It can grow successfully on mildly acidic or alkaline sandy-loam, loam soils through to clay soils (pH 4.5 to 8 CaCl2).
Bladder clover is a semi erect annual clover that is best suited to well drained soils. It can grow in a range of soil pH (CaCl2) from 4.5 through to 8.0, but good soil nutrition levels are important to maximise production.
Bladder clover is distinctly different from other annual clover species due to the seed being encapsulated in a “bladder” with many of these in each seed head. Oestrogen levels in bladder clover are lower than that of other clovers, so infertility with stock is a low risk.
Bladder clover is an ideal option in cropping zones as a break crop in a rotation.
