Research

PGG Wrightson Seeds have been in the Australian forage seed business since 1938 and introduced the first proprietary cultivar into Australia in 1987. Since this time we have proudly led the development of improved pasture plant genetics in this country.

Research and development across Australasia is key to our success. We invest well in excess of AUD$9 million per annum into our forage and endophyte programmes.

Development of novel endophytes for ryegrass and tall fescue, in conjunction with AgResearch, has been a major technological breakthrough for the pastoral industry and has led to improved insect control delivering agronomic performance and ryegrass persistence.
